Your Sims go through various life stages during Sims Freeplay - babies, toddler, preteens, teens, adults and seniors.
Each life stage brings different interactions and hobbies. As you start the game not all life stages are available and they become available as you progress through the main quests. To begin with to progress to the next life stage you need to bake a cake and give a cake to the Sim you want to progress to the next stage but once you complete the Life Dreams & Legacies quest Sims progress to the next life stage automatically after a certain period of time.
