This is the first quest in Sims Freeplay. Quests unlock new content including furniture, clothes, building and more. The quest unlocks from level 6 (if you are on or have passed level 6 you need to complete the tutorial before you can begin this quest.

The quest will show you how you cook in Sims Freeplay. Cooking is a hobby and you will begin collecting items for the cooking hobby during this quest.

As you progress through the game quests begin to have time limits with time limited prizes but to begin with there is no time limit for this quest and you will unlock your first hobby - the cooking hobby.

Please remember that all items have either a 1,2 or 3 star rating and the time tasks take depend upon the star rating of the item

Watch Sim Chef on TV - 2 mins 42 secs

Buy a stove - (kitchen section of the Home Store, costs S350)

Cook bacon and eggs on a stove - 5 mins

Eat bacon and eggs - 10 mins (click on the plate and 'grab a plate')

Wash the dishes - 3 secs (click on the dish, select 'clean up')

Search bookcase - 2 hrs 21 mins (living room section of Home Store, 2 star costs S700)

Buy a toaster (Kitchen section of Home Store, 1 star costs S750)

Cook cheese and tomato on toast - 1 min

Eat cheese and tomato on toast - 10 mins (grab a plate)

Invite a Sim over - (click on the whistle in SimTracker)

Cook burgers - 20 mins (need to be at cooking level 2 to unlock burgers - keep cooking cheese and tomato on toast until you have a Sim at level 2)

Call to meal - click on plate

Rest your eyes on a couch - 4 mins 30 secs

QUEST IS COMPLETE

You can now complete the cooking hobby. The cooking hobby is one of the best and quickest ways to earn LPs

Why can't I start this quest?

You need to complete the tutorial and complete level 6 before this quest becomes unlocked for you.

Can I complete this quest even though I am passed level 6?

You can complete this quest at any level on or after level 6.  As long as you have completed the tutorial, this quest will pop up automatically for you.

Why don't I have the option to watch Sim Chef on TV?

You will only have this option when the goal pops up during the quest.

I've cooked bacon and eggs but nothing happens?

You need to click the icon above the Sim showing bacon and eggs to complete this task.

Why can't I buy the toaster?

The toaster needs to be placed on a counter or table. If you are trying to place it on the floor you won't able to put it down.

Why can't I make cheese on toast?

You need to have an available stove and a toaster in the house to cook cheese on toast

How do I invite a Sim over?

Open the SimTracker and click on the whistle next to the Sim you want to call over

Why can't I cook burgers?

You will need to have a Sim at level 2 in the cooking hobby to unlock cooking burgers.  Choose one Sim and cook cheese on toast until they are level 2.

Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?

This happens when your Sim can't access the item. To solve this you either need to rotate the item so the little arrow has a blank space in front of it or move an item that has been placed in front of the item you want to use.

Where are the chopping boards?

You need to complete the cooking hobby to unlock the chopping boards and then you can find them in the Home Store in the Kitchen section

Can I just skip this quest? I don't really like it!

Nope, Ne, Non, No! This is a main quest and you MUST complete each main quest before you can move onto the next.

Why are some of the times different on my game?

Each item has a star rating - 1,2 or 3 stars. The higher the star rating of the item you are using, the quicker it will be to complete a task.
