Need for Steed quest is a main quest within Sims Freeplay which means all previous quests must have been completed before this becomes available. 

It becomes available at level 11 and unlocks the stables and the ability to own horses. It will also unlock the horse hobbies. 

Please remember that all items have either a 1,2 or 3 star rating and the time tasks take depend upon the star rating of the item

Version One

Spot horses with telescope - 5 mins (buy from PromotionsRUs)
Go to the mystery island
Spot the overgrown stables - tap on it
Call the mysterious number - 1 hr 40 mins
Read horse care manual - 8 hrs 30 mins
Call mysterious number again - 4 mins
Look up a locksmith on a computer - 2 hrs
Build the stables - time and price varies
Send a Sim to the stables
Clean up the mess in front of the yard - 3 hrs
Have 4 Sims at the stables
Clean up the yard with your Sims

1. water trough - 10 hrs
2. large rock pile - 7 hrs
3. tree stump - 6 hrs
4. small rock pile - 4 hrs
5. old tyre - 1 hr 30 mins
6. thistles - 30 mins
7. wild grass - 30 secs
8. weeds 5 mins

Watch the horse channel - 3 hrs 10 mins

Practice brushing another Sim - 15 mins

Encourage a Sim - 2 hrs

Repair a stable - 8 hrs S30,000

Call the stables owner back - 4 hrs 30 mins

Add a horse to the stables - S15,000 or 10SP

Feed the horse - 30 mins

QUEST IS COMPLETE

If you completed within the 7 days the unicorn painting is now unlocked.  It can be found in the decorations tab in theme store for S10,000. Personally I don't think it's really worth trying to rush the quest for as it's just a painting to decorate with.

You can now begin the horse hobbies from the stables - horse vaulting, showjumping and horse tricks.

The next quest is A Quest for Toddlers.

FAQs on this quest

Why can't I start this quest?

You need to complete the tutorial and complete level 11 before this quest becomes unlocked for you.

Can I complete this quest even though I am passed level 11?

You can complete this quest at any level on or after level 11.  As long as you have completed the previous quests, this quest will pop up automatically for you.

Why are there two versions of this quest?

The developers have updated some of the quests over time so some quests have 2 versions as the devs haven't changed the quests on all devices.

Where is the telescope?

You can buy the telescope in the Promotions R Us store

I haven't built the Promotions R Us store yet - can I get the telescope without it?

No, you must build the Promotions R Us store to buy the telescope.

Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?

This happens when your Sim can't access the item. To solve this you either need to rotate the item so the little arrow has a blank space in front of it or move an item that has been placed in front of the item you want to use.

How do I place the telescope in my house once I've bought it from the Promotions R Us store?

It will be your inventory so you need to go into your inventory under career and hobby items and place it down.

Can I build the stables early?

No, the stables can only be built when the goal comes up in the quest.

Can more than 4 Sims clear the mess up in the stables?

Yes, you can have up to 10 Sims in one place so 8 Sims can clear the 8 items at the same time.

How do I practice brushing with another Sim?
This is an interaction between two Sims so have one Sim selected and click on another Sim to get the interaction.

Can I just skip this quest? I don't really like it!

Nope! This is a main quest and you MUST complete each main quest before you can move onto the next.

Why are some of the times different on my game?

Each item has a star rating - 1,2 or 3 stars. The higher the star rating of the item you are using, the quicker it will be to complete a task.
